Dental Checkups & Cleanings

The six-month dental checkups and cleanings you can expect in our Falmouth office will give your teeth and gums the attention they deserve. Apart from examining these areas and removing any accumulated bacteria and plaque from your teeth and gumline, we’ll also perform an oral cancer screening to ensure no abnormalities exist that might require further testing. Dr. Hill and our team will develop a necessary treatment plan if additional services are recommended, and we’ll go over all the details before you leave.
Gum Disease Treatment

Your gums are just as important as your teeth, so when redness, inflammation, and bleeding occur, appropriate treatment must be provided. Using scaling and root planing, Dr. Hill and our team can target pockets of harmful bacteria and reduce swelling and tenderness to encourage gum reattachment and proper healing. By eliminating plaque and tartar growth, we can minimize the chances of reinfection in the future so that your teeth and gums remain healthy.
Fluoride Treatment

Tooth enamel may be strong, but it’s not indestructible. Too often, it can become the target of dental decay, resulting in cavities forming in children and adults. Fortunately, with fluoride treatment, Dr. Hill can apply a clear solution to the surfaces of teeth that acts like a barrier, protecting smiles from decay and strengthening (remineralizing) existing enamel. For young patients, we can apply silver diamine fluoride that actively stops decay in its tracks while delivering optimal protection against future cavities.
Dental Sealants

Ensuring back teeth remain safeguarded against decay is essential; however, for some younger patients, it can be hard to reach these areas while cleaning. With dental sealants, we can protect these chewing surfaces. As clear plastic coatings that are applied to molars and premolars during a regular appointment, sealants are like a shield that can last up to 10 years.
Athletic Mouthguards/ Sportsguards

Sports are a great way to stay in shape; however, they’re also known to be a primary cause of dental injuries. Without proper protection, broken and knocked-out teeth can become your reality. Fortunately, with a customized athletic mouthguard, Dr. Hill can deliver a comfortable and snug-fitting oral appliance that gives your smile the coverage and protection it needs. No matter what kind of athletic event you participate in, wearing a sportsguard will ensure greater confidence and less risk.
Nightguards for Bruxism

Similar to an athletic mouthguard is a custom nightguard. This specialized appliance is recommended if you suffer from bruxism or teeth grinding/clenching. Often caused by stress, a misaligned bite, or temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD), bruxism can wear down tooth enamel and cause jaw pain over time. With a nightguard that is worn properly over the top row of teeth, the device will prevent the upper and lower arches from touching so that your smile remains safe and damage-free.
